Privacy policy

What we collect

• Birth details: your birth date, and if you add them, your birth time and city. We use them to calculate your chart.
• Your answers: what you pick during the free reading (what's on your mind, relationship status and similar). Before you create an account they're saved in your browser.
• Account details: your email and first name, or your Google account's name and email if you sign in with Google.
• People you add: the name and birth details of anyone you add for compatibility, and the answers of anyone who responds to your invite link. Only add someone if you're comfortable sharing their birthday with us.
• Questions and readings: what you ask in the app and the readings we write for you, so you can come back to them.
• Purchases: your plan and its status. Card details go straight to our payment provider; we never see or store them.
• Notifications: if you turn on daily notifications, your browser's push address and the time you chose.
• Usage: which pages and buttons are used, and basic device and browser information, so we can see what works and fix what doesn't.

How we use it

• To calculate your chart and write your readings, daily horoscope and compatibility results.
• To keep your account, purchases and notifications working.
• To improve the app, for example by comparing two versions of a page.
• To answer you when you write to us, and to prevent abuse.

We don't sell your personal information, we don't share it for targeted advertising, and we don't use your birth details or questions to advertise to you.

Who helps us run AstroFindings

These companies process data for us, only to provide their service:

• Supabase: our database and sign-in. Your account, chart and readings are stored there.
• Vercel: hosts the website.
• AI providers (OpenAI, Groq, Google Gemini and OpenRouter): write the text of your readings. We send your chart details, your first name and the question you asked. We don't send your email.
• Dodo Payments: processes payments and subscriptions.
• PostHog: product analytics (the usage information above).
• OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) and Photon: look up the city you type to find its coordinates and time zone. Only the text you type is sent.
• Google: if you choose Sign in with Google.
• Your browser's push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla): delivers notifications if you turn them on.

Cookies and browser storage

We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, and your browser's local storage to remember your free-reading answers and small preferences. Analytics uses its own cookie. We don't use advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, charts, readings, the people you added and your notification settings. We may keep billing records where the law requires it.

Your choices and rights

• You can turn notifications off at any time in your profile or your browser settings.
• You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data by emailing hello@astrofindings.com. We'll confirm the request came from your account's email and reply within 30 days.
• If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have these rights by law, and we won't treat you differently for using them. We don't sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections, and database access is limited so each account can only read its own data. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you.

Age

AstroFindings is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email first. See also our terms.
